CITY OF KNOXVILLE PENSION BOARD

PENSION BOARD ELECTION – SEAT B

The City of Knoxville Charter requires that the Fire Department Uniformed Employees who are active participants of the Pension Plan elect a representative for the City of Knoxville Pension Board each three years. The term for Seat B currently held by Mr. John Tillett will expire December 31, 2019 and an election for the new three-year term commencing January 1, 2020 will be conducted before the end of the year. (Those fire department employees who have dropped are not eligible to participate in this process.)

Seat B may only be held by a member of the Fire Department.

In order to provide Fire Department Uniformed employees with a choice of willing and qualified candidates, the Pension Board Election Rules include a nomination process for employees interested in becoming candidates for the position.

Nomination petitions may be obtained from the Pension Board Office, which is located at 917 E. Fifth Avenue.

To become a nominee, an interested Uniformed Fire Department employee must submit a nomination petition to the City of Knoxville Pension Office before 4:30 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2019.
